She is thought to be Joan Hamner who came to the colonies in 1635. Though no record is known to exist to substantiate her
name, some credence can be given to support this theory, by the fact that at least 3 later generations of Hamner men were
named Turner. Even before the union with the James Turner family.
First Nicholas one married Joan Turner b. 1614 England.
Arrived in America in 1635 on the ship Safety. Most
researchers will agree on this. If this is so then she is
